Seems as if some of the teachers are lacking in updated teaching skills. Lack of strong leadership from principal. If not for the strong PTO this school would be a zero. Sad, you would have to make a visit to get the full picture.

Chisolm is a cozy, neighborhood school that encourages parent involvement. I love that all the teachers and staff know all of my children's name and even that they are all related to each other - it has a nice, friendly, safe 'vibe' and provides a wonderful education base.
While this school seems to be run well and has high test scores, the principal and most of the teachers are not welcoming. As a new parent to this school, I am sorely disappointed with the rapport between the kids and the principal. She doesn't acknowledge them as they walk by nor does she seems to know their name. Having been at several other schools, I know how important a relationship with the principal is and I find that those relationships are lacking here.

We hav been at Chisolm for two years now in Pre-K and K. We love it. The parents and teachers are very involved and the principal, Ms. Grahm is fantastic. They encourage extracurricular activities as well. My daughter plays the violin and both years they have asked her to play for the school assembly to promote music. We get frequent updates on what they are working on in class and a target sheet on what to work on at home. My daughter loves going to school and we have Chisolm to thank for that.
