Best Elementary School Principal in our county. She is very resourceful and is very connected to our community. Networks well with organizations in our area to help her children be the best that they can be.
This is my third child to attend Kingsway Elementary (2007). We have been very pleased for the most part. Barring a few run-ins with a couple of teachers (you can't expect Utopia), our kids have been happy here and we've been satsified. We recently got a new principle (Lori Davis) last year, and she seems to love her job. I was impressed that she remembered my youngest was going into K, and remembered my other kids names without being reminded. Parent volunteering is always encouraged, especially as Kingsway has many special events like Book Fair, field trips, and the end of the year 'Cougar Carnival'. They've recently restructured the territory, so if you live outside that area, you're child will probably not be considered for enrollment. Call the office to check. We recommend this school heartily!
Excellent school, enthusiastic teachers. Parent involvement is always encouraged and supported. Secure parent pick up, with any special instructions cleared only through office personnel. Last 5 years have have zero abduction incidents and one or two minor student altercations. All grades receive quarterly rewards for perfect attendance, reading skills, the 'Giant Step' award for best improvement, and the 'Cougar Pride' award, which goes to the student that shows exemplary curteouness and behavior towards others. Kids alaso receive gift certificates to participating restaurants with their awards. Nancy Craw, the school's principal, keeps in touch with parents by using a new automated system that phone your house and plays a prerecorded message with any details parents need to know about. Teachers are great at keeping in contact with parents when your child needs extra help. We love Kingsway- it's one of the areas most popular schools.
