My child attended this school from K-1st. I do admit that the school does well on their FCAT results, which was a draw for me as a new parent to the area. I was very disappointed with the lack of parental involvement especially with PTO and the poor service provided by the front office staff. The school is overcrowded! The morning drop off/afternoon pick up is a nightmare! Most importantly for children who excel the educational opportunities are limited. My child is no longer at this school.

Lost Lake Elementary is a well organized school. They are always prompt to give important information. The staff is wonderful and always greet you with a smile. I am so pleased with all my K and Pre-K has learned through out the year. If you are looking for an A school, I would reccomend Lost Lake for your children.

I started homeschooling my daughter in February because I was completely fed up with the adminstration of this school. The administrators as well as several office staff were extremely rude on many occassions for no reason. This is a huge problem. It also seems this school focuses more on passing the FCATs then actually teaching the kids. The pressure is unbelievable and my daughter was only in Kindergarten! I worked as an elementary school teacher in a public school for many years and I know that Lost Lake is a very poor school. I never desired to homeschool my daughter but I could not keep her in that horrible environment.

After reading the previous postings of parents, I must agree that the front office staff could use some customer service training, as they do not project a positive attitude. In some cases, they are down right rude. I also agree about the lack of classes for advanced students and lack of extra curricular activities. Judging from parents reviews, the school and it's staff seem to be declining, as they scored great in 2005 and 2006 but began receiving negative comments in 2007 and the trend has continued. Maybe they have become complacent. Fortunately, we are in our last year here and will move on to hopefully better things next year.
