Academically the school is great. My kids are excited to learn more everyday. The staff is great with the kids. The availability of music is good, Art, I think there is not enough. The principle wants more structural time for the kids. Learning is more important she says. As for sports and extracurricular activities, not enough. We only have our physical education time, no teams for the kids, parents need to get more involved to help these kids to be interested in sports. The teachers are the begining of their students futures. The parents are with them for the rest of their lives and having my children going there for so long I have volunteered numerous times in and out of the classrooms, there is not enough parent involvment. Parents need to stop complaining about staff and stuff and volunteer more often to see what is going on.
The only rating I will give Alcott is lousy. I am glad my children are not there anymore. Jeanne Samuel

I have been very impressed by the quality of ALL of the teachers at Alcott. My son has had wonderful teachers who remember that he is an individual and a child, and have been willing to take time out of their schedule to meet with me or talk on the phone. I have always felt welcome in the classroom, and enjoy the opportunity to help out. I don't know the principal well, but she seems very motivated to make Alcott a great school. Parents are very active in the school, and the foundation makes it possible for students to go on field trips and have enrichment materials. I just wish the music program was available for the younger kids.
