My daughter was in Kindergarten last year at KCS and is in first grade this year. They worked hard with my daughter and determined she has a learning disability. They have gone out of their way to help me and her understand both our rights and her needs. I was impressed as well that they put her in the 1st grade class with the teacher that 'everyone' wanted. I really appreciate that the vice principal seems to know every child in the school by name as well and that they have a positive behavoir reinforcement program. My daughter loves school and I believe it in part do to the wonderful staff at KCS.
We have 2 grandsons, one in 2nd grade and one at the kindergarten at KCS. The 2nd grader is an above average learner and loves this school. Last year he had a bully problem on the playground. The V.P and teachers all cared deeply and took immediate action. The school handled it in a global fashion by having the children from the 1st and 2nd grade gather for an assembly to discuss the intolerance for bullying in their school. Needless to say, our grandson was delighted to see the immediate affect of this action. No more encounters persisted after his 'seriously taken' complaint was lodged and investigated. We were all very grateful to this school for 'nipping it in the bud' and paving the way for a continually positive learning environment. Just a note: Our kindergarten guy who is newly seated this year. He tuly loves it at KCS!
