The school has a new principal. The building appears to still be in good shape. I have found that most of the teachers my children have had over the year take interest in my children and their individual needs and abilities. In fact just recently, half-way through 5th grade, the music teacher noticed a skill set my son had while they were using Xlaphones and asked my son to come join the percussion lessons and band. He did and is now learning how to play drums. The artist in residence program has been going on for years at this school. Each year an artist in town spends time with the students teaching and making art in their specialized area. The resulting projects are then displayed or used throughout the school. Stained glass windows, sand sculptures, mosaics, just to name a few.

One of the best schools in Burlington. Highly dedicated staff. Ideal mix of students with many opportunities to explore diverse cultures and learning styles. Children are respectful and encouraged to grow at their own rate.

I have had children at Francis Wyman since it opened over 9 years ago. Overall I have been very pleased with the school. Most of the teachers are wonderful and very qualified, but like any school some are not as good. I think the princpals could do a better job at making sure all the teachers are covering the same material so that all the children get the same education. Lately, because of the security requirements, I don't feel parents are as welcomed as they used to be. For a large school they have done a great job at making it have a 'small feel'. I think the best part of this school is the wonderful and caring teachers. My children have been very happy here and have had a great introduction to learning and have been given a great base on which to grow on.

We have been very pleased with our son's K, first, and second grade teachers. Very nurturing and responsive. The math and science curriculae are very good. Our concerns are with the reading curriculum and the lack of opportunities for parents to volunteer in the school and classrooms. We like the diversity (wish there was more.)
