I agree this is a great school. I had a bad experience with a teachers pedagogy early on, but I am happy with the teaching styles since.
I definitely agree with the other parents; Montessori 27 is a wonderful school! My daughter is entering the second grade and she loves it as well. She is very knowledgable for her age and she is definitely advanced in Reading. Her friends are all mixed so she's able to learn about different cultures. This school has also strengthened her love of plants and animal life. There is also a very strong PTA presence. I can only hope, at some point, that this school get more funding so it can offer more activities.
Our child has made incredible progress since coming to Montessori 27, learning to read and write. We feel confident about the teachers and the administration. Very caring and supportive atmosphere. I would definately recommend it to other families. A hidden gem in Yonkers.
I am a class parent for Pre-K to K and my daughter is in Pre-K already through the first half of the year she is on the verge of learning to read. She is excelling at an unbelievable rate. The parents along with the PTA in this school are very involved and I can't say how happy I am. I am also choosing this school for my other daughter who starts here in Sept.
