Granite Bay HS now has an IB program that will be graduating it's first class of seniors -- go Class of 2010!
If I had to pick a school for my students now it would not be Granite Bay High School. The politics, the 'my way or the highway' attitude of the teachers, and the favortism given to the IB and AP students, typifies the Granite Bay 'bubble.' Don't get me wrong, my student is an acedemic achiever, but not because of the environment at this school.

I am very impressed with this school. It has a variety of programs for the gifted student as well as the challenged, and I have experience with both. The IB Program, AP Classes, and Honors classes will keep the brightest kids challenged. The tutoring center is a blessing for times when your child needs extra help. There are classes organized to help your child learn at their speed. The outside activities and clubs are amazing and too numerous to list. The choir, band, team sports and the many clubs are all recommended and of good quality. This school offers a tremendous amount. I encourage all students to take advantage of everything it has to offer! Technology is used so that the child and the parent can keep track of academic progress as well as school social activities. Good communication from faculty is a major plus.

This school is great with a lot of great communicative and experienced teachers, successful sports teams(name a sport, we're good at it), technological programs and resources, different clubs, diverse electives and lots of school spirit and parental support. The school has adopted the IB program which makes it one of the only 2 schools in the district to have bringing in even more bright students into its campus. The school boasts over 3 computer labs and an entire 'learning center' for classes to use throughout the day and students to visit afterschool for tutoring and studying. The school has a blocked schedule which may seem complicated to those that are unfamiliar with it, but with a blocked schedule, students in can take 2 consecutive math, foreign language, science, etc. classes in a year allowing them to progress further and take as many upper-level courses as possible to challenge. GBHS Rocks!
