I would definatly agree with the staff member's remarks. I was a student at Crestview and I didn't get the college preperation I needed. I transferred to pioneer to get something out of my education. The school keeps pumping it's money into it's sports programs rather than using that money to improve the curriculum. I am most disgusted with the fact that they just cut the french program and ordered more smart boards. All the tools in the world won't matter if we don't have teachers to teach. If I were trying to decide where to send my child I would send them to Shelby. At least they care about academic excellence. Crestview only preps students to take these exams that this site is rating them on. They don't try to encourage an education.

I am proud to have had two daughters graduate from crestview. They were in the sports programs and the drama club, one was in national honor society. I feel the teachers were there for my daughters, especially mr. Bailey and jan kuhn. The drama club helped give them the courage to stand and speak in front of people. The sports helped them to be competative in the field of life. They are both doing great. My oldest is married to a crestview graduate also and their oldest is in kindergarten at crestview. My youngest is employed at med central. I believe the sports program give the community an opportunity to support the students as well as the drama and music programs. We all need to remember that we as parents need to get involved, show we care, instead of complaining, go offer your help.

Crestviw High School is average at best. The faculty and parents encourage sports above all else even going so far as to tell students that they can not get into college without playing sports.CHS grads are not well prepared for college not having read many of the classics and having a poor working knowledge of current scientific work.Probably 90-99% of the homework is busy work that serves no purpose other than to take up time.Extracurriculars could be better and fewer sports would be a plus. The kids are there to LEARN.Playing Div. 5 sports will probably NOT be a factor when they apply to college.Talented and gifted children are dragged down to the learning level of their lowest classmate. They are given no real opportunities to think for themselves or come to thier own conclusions.
