My daughter transferred from a Catholic School when we moved to the Deptford area and at first, I was very nervous about her not going to a private school. I think I made an excellent decision putting her in this school as she is getting what I feel is a better education than her private school would have offered. The faculty, staff & PTA are all very hard and ambitious workers who have one very important interest in mind...our children. I agree that Oak Valley Elementary School is the BEST school in Deptford Twp!!!!

The faculty are very caring and involved. The PTA is excellent. Very active, many good programs. They use 'Everyday Math.' Is difficult for us who learned math 'the old way,' to help kids at home. Reading is done in ability grouping, but not math. Small class size (17 in my daughter's 2nd grade class.' Good program for teaching responsibility, kindness, etc... No air conditioners. Gets VERY hot in the summer. Kids need cold water bottles in the summer. Old building is clean, but dingy gray. Play ground has minimal equipment. Good band program for older kids. They get music once per week. Library, gym, and art twice per week. Class Moms get limited access to room. Others, only if needed for field trip (once per year). Good access to tachers and administrators. New principal coming in 2006-07.
