I am currently an eight grader and would like to say that PJH is, what I would call, the best Junior High in the state. First of all, the teachers are great, though I would like to point a few out. Rita McDermott (7th and 8th grade reading teacher) is amazing. She makes you want to come to school just for that class. She is nice, fun and a great teacher overall. Nancy Mayfield (7th and 8th grade social studies teacher) is also quite fantastic. She has an awesome attitude and teaching style and is a very fun teacher to have. Besides teachers, another great thing Prairie has to offer is all of the clubs. One of the best is band. 5 years in a row, we have won the band confrence competition, which is very good since we practice 3 days less per week than other bands. Overall, Prairie=Awesome!

I am currently a 7th grader going into 8th grade and i would like to say that every child will not be left out of the fun! everyday we have many funs things to do! I for one was a very shy person coming into prarie...now im an outstanding High Honor A student who talks to every new person...I have made many friends this way. If you have just moved to the Alsip/OakLawn area I engourage you to vist praire. Like Mr. Birminham says 'Make good Choices and Ask Good Questons.' =]
Praire is a wonderful school. They make you feel like you're part of a family. Every day they start it off with an assembly and you really feel like you're a part of something. There are tons of clubs and the classes are really fun.
