This is absolutely the best elementary school in Orange County, and it has room for open enrollment students!! The students and teachers are so caring and nice, children thrive in this school. Its set in a beautiful canyon with streams and Oak trees by Irvine Lake. The community is so involved in the school, and that is probably what makes it such a special place.
This is a terrific school where every child gets personal attention. I have volunteered in classrooms one day a week for 8 years, so I have seen the teachers in action with the children. In that time I have found the teachers to be exceptional. They are patient yet firm with great control over their classrooms. They have warm and nurturing personalities that helps to build the children s self esteem. Their structured and consistent approach provides the children with a safe and comfortable environment in which to learn and grow in. They take a personal interest in each and every one of their students and guide them through their individual learning challenges.
My kids are grown up and in college now but I find myself still volunteering at Silverado Elementary because it is such a precious small community school where every child gets the attention they deserve and are known on a first name basis. Scores are high, teachers are great, kids really care about one another and strive to be positive members of their community and the outer society. Silverado rules!
If you are looking for a wonderful school, where every teacher knows every student, and when there is a school function with all the students, and there are as many or more parents that show -- this is your school.
