I am not sure where the parent who saw no artwork or creativity was looking, but it surely wasn't St. Marks. In pre-K and kindergarten, my daughter was always bringing home artwork, and it was always displayed in the hallway. This year she is in 1st grade and already reading above grade level, and learning math that is well beyond what I expected. The teachers and staff may not put on airs, but I have never seen a more dedicated group of professionals who care more about their students and who strive to treat each child as an indivdual. My daughter loves this school and is thriving there. As a secondary public school teacher, I am confident that the teachers at St, Marks will have her well prepared for high school.

We stopped in to St. Mark's at least a half dozen times in the year prior to actually enrolling our child. We are very happy with the care he receives - the director and staff care very much about the children and my child is happy as a clam. Is he on the genius track with the push for learning in his pre-k curriculum here? No - but pay double and go somewhere else to get that. He will be just fine entering Kindergarten next year - this I am very certain. He is allowed to be a 4 year old and it's great.
My children attended St Mark's for ten years and loved every year that they were there. They began in preschool, where they learned to think for themselves. Instead of being taught what to think they were taught how to think. They were allowed to be individuals rather than be made to fit the mold. They excelled and were afforded the opportunity to move forward. Upon leaving St Mark's they carried with them a love for learning , which they still possess. I highly recommend this school.
As a teacher I can tell you it was an amazing experience to have worked with such caring people. The principal at the time was caring and like she always said to all the teachers, 'it's not about the parents is about the child, always the child first'. I would truely recommend this school and the teachers there are always willing to help, no matter what.
