I feel very fortunate to have my son at NHHS. However, I must say that the real defining factor for a childs success thede days is the home environment. Parents need to start early with their children when it comes to study skills, tutoring, etc. My husband and I never remember our parents being so involved. It seems that teachers are too bogged down with paperwork and required curriculums to teach as well as they used to.I don't blame them, but instead the governments involvement. Parents in this area also do way to much of their childrens homework for them, and that really distrurbs me. The 'rich' kids in this area and their lack of respect for their parents, scholl, and authority is the only downfall to this scholl. If you can get past that, as we have, the school has excellent opportunities.

Newport is great...the location is really what makes it key. As I always say, 'Beach town kids are happier kids!'

Im currently a transferring senior to Harbor, comming from Bloomfield Hills, Michigan. Although my previous school in Michigan was a socially better experience for me, I love this school. The only problem is that some people are 'clicky,' just as any other high school is. I like it though. Thumbs up!
