Emporia High School is a fine school. The rating of this school should be higher due to the educational level of the teachers and the percentage who are teaching successfully in their fields. Emporia has experienced a huge surge of migrant and immigrant workers to the area thus bringing in lower income families and students who speak very little or no English at all. As a consequence teachers find themselves spending more time with students who have little or no English skills which may be a reason for some test scores not meeting state standards. Yet, a vast majority of the students do excel in this school academically and go on to attend well known colleges with scholarships! The school is clean and safe. The teachers and staff are dedicated to helping students achieve their goals and contributing to their success as adults. My three kids attended this school successfully.

This school has great tech department they have great safety in the school but it lacks a bit of discipline the principal is really nice and so are the assistant-principals also yet it is a ok school.
