Signal Hill Elementary School

As a graduate and person who has moved back to the district it is great to see how well the school is doing and the level of parental involvement at our school. The occassional squeeky wheel who can not devote time because they work or simply not involved in their childs education is a constant in our society. The school is a diverse group of students which helps the children prepare for our multicultural world that the children will grow up into. The key to ongoing success is the involvement of parents, teachers and the community support on the whole. I love Signal Hill and it still is a 'Great Place to Live.' If you are looking for your children to be cared for by compassionate, caring faculty and staff then this is the place for you!!

I'm extremely proud that my children get to go to this school. I love everything about it. Our principle is so dedicated to our children and their well being. Our PTO is the best I've ever seen and I've been through plenty of schools(I have older children as well). I like that it is a small school and everyone knows everyone. In the four years that I have been involved with this school, I have only heard one complaint about a teacher. I'd say that is pretty good considering I know a lot of people there. Another plus is that a lot of our teachers live in the neigborhood so they truly do care about these kids.

When we moved into the district our taxes doubled. We were told this was to support the fabulous school. We were extremely disappointed. Teachers teach to the lowest common denominator. Our kids were doing work they had previously done two years prior in their previous school. Lots of fighting amongst school board members. Children ill prepared for a rigourous high school curricula upon graduation. Hopefully with a new superintendent and principal improvements will be made.

My son love to go to school every day. The faculty, principal, and other staff welcome him every morning with a smile. The programs strong in all areas, and the expectations remain high. The principal is wonderful, and was the main reason that we chose to send our son to Signal Hill!
