My child is in kindergarten at this great school. Starting schoold for the first time is a very big adjustment for the students as well as the parents. The staff at this school made this such a pleasurable experience! I personally could not have asked for a better teacher for my son. Keep up the great work!

Accawmacke Elementary is a great school. My family and I couldn't be happier with the education that my child is receiving. The teachers are compassionate and caring. I feel that the teachers and administration always have what is best for the students at heart. Many times the parents that complain are the ones who are not involved and really don't know or seem to care what is going on. Get involved instead of complaining. Great job, Accawmacke!

The SOL's overwhelm the curriculum to the point of exclusion of core academics. My child had NO science in fourth grade as the bulk of class time was spent on SOL Social Studies preparation. The school offers little in the way of extra help for struggling students. The afterschool program is geared towards SOL prep and not individual needs. We have had some excellent, caring teachers in the past. Unfortunately, they seem to be outnumbered by those who don't seem to care that they are shaping the future of our country. They seem to lack the enthusiasm that inspires students to achieve their potential. While the music program is good, the art program is not. In 4 years, I have seen my children come home with only a handful of completed projects. Students move on to a new project while the prior is unfinished which sets a bad example.
