My son is an Honor Student at La Habra High. At LHHS, it s all about the students! Whether it s academics, sports or any of the other various activities that the school offers. Communication is top notch. With both the website & marquee being kept current and up to date. This past month, there was an incident with a student. The information from that incident was out within a few hours to parents. We knew what happened and where. I get weekly emails from the teachers, telling me what is due & what the class has done during the week. There's an Open Door Policy for the Principal or Assistant Principals. Also, a new Aeries program, which was installed in 2008, to tell us all about our students. Make a difference in your students life - get involved!
I have three kids that went to La Habra High School, the youngest is an Honor Student. I just want to emphasize that any school private or public has problems. We as parents must make a commitment to get involve with our child's academic work. LHHS provides a good foundation and education to the students that go there to learn and get involved in different activities and we as parents must also be involved in our childs activities (in and out of school) unfortunately not all parents do that.
This school has basically no communication. Report cards and progress reports are mailed to you 3 weeks after the date on them so it is too late to do anything by then. Most teachers won't email or call you back. I had to go to the principal to get anything done or any answers. There website is rarely current. My child will not return to this school. The Heritage program has group projects that 1 person usually does because no one else will show up and participate and they all get the same grade, its a joke. This happened with every project this year. Teachers are not caring except for their paycheck. Everytime you turn around they want money for something else like you are just supposed to keep giving and giving.

I am a graduate of LHHS and my 4 years of high school were a complete waste of time because the teachers and facilities were below average. I was hardly challenged in academics and the school primarily puts it focus on athletics. The football team may be considered above average but the school does not prepare its students for life after high school athletics.
