No teacher /parent communication..Too many childern for the teachers to handle. They sound good in person but cannot back up what they say they offer..

There is always room for improvement but overall I have been very happy with this school. My child is not considered in the norm when it comes to how he learns. We moved here when he was in the 3rd grade (he is now in 5th) and had some horrible experiences in OK. He is doing much better now and has had nothing but great teachers at this school. They all seem very caring and have his best interest at heart. Thank you for all your hard work and patience. And Mr. Prentice you are a wonderful educator, principal, and just an overall great human being. You have truly made a difference at this school and all the kids love you. Shannon Moore a parent

My daughter has attended Beachwood for grades 2,3,4 and now 5...I also have a son in kindergarten, my daughter has had the opportunity to be in one other school on post, and one off in Lacey. I can say that her experience varies with the teacher, we have had some awful ones and some great ones, the office staff can be unapproachable sometimes, but great others. I know that Mr. Prentice, the new principle has made some wonderful changes and he is definitely more concerned about the kids' education than the last. He is making it a point to learn the students' and parents' names. Academically, I think WA state is suffering from lack of teaching skills. They are adamant about the students' WASL scores, but the test has material that was not taught during the school year. Students then get disappointed thinking they've failed.
