For all the years that I have gone to Woodlan, I have been one of these 'different' students you speak of, and I feel that my class has done much more than accept me. There are a few groups of people that are not as easily accepted as others, though. These include: extremely obese people, students that act as if they are smarter than others, and people the students find mean or annoying. Woodlan isn't perfect, and no doubt it has a few weaknesses, but in comparison to other schools, I think that Woodlan is definitely near if not at the top. I would say that Woodlan is a rating of about 4.6 out of 5.

I feel that Woodlan should evaluate things that go on and involve the student body and opinions more. I think that the principal now should listen to the students more and not make any major changes without this. I feel that the safety of the students are also a major factor at this school, I feel that it is an issue that needs more attention. My children no longer attend public schools.

This school is not as bad as you all are making it out to be. I've gone here for three years now and I see no problem with the tolerance issue. If your kid is doing something anyone thinks should not be tolerated, you as a parent have the responsibility to get a handle on that instead of complaining to the school administration. Yes, it is true that different types of people are not always accepted immediately in such a small town. I always thought that was a shame. But give Woodlan a break, most of the student body has no idea what the 'real world' is like because we live in such a small community. I think that Woodlan HAD some leadership issues in the past, but this year we have a new principal who I think will be an excellent leader.

As a graduate of Woodlan Jr./Sr. High School, I felt that I had a great education. The staff was very supportive of me and allowed me to grow as a person. The education and activities offered by Woodlan and EACS are second to none. Because of the support and education, I was able to attend college and have since completed a Masters degree, and I am working on my second. This is a great school and a great community to raise your children.
