I have been very disappointed in Karigon. I have had two children go through six years each there. I find the physical characteristics cold and unwelcoming. The principal does a poor job of communicating with parents. There is no real sense of community at this school
This is our first year at Kar igon and while I have been impressed by the PTA and many of the teachers at the school especially in the lower grades. It seems that the older grades are geared to teaching towards the state test. I have seen no cooperative learning taking place in my older sons class and he is bored with just doing worksheets from the textbooks. I wish the school could find a balance between covering the material needed for the test and challenging children in the classroom who need it.
WONDERFUL school! Great teachers, caring staff, PTA is very involved and does a lot for the kids and school.
I absolutely adore this school. My son has special needs for his disability and not only is the principal outstanding, but so are the special ed teachers. They provide alot of nice activities and such via PTA that are wonderful for the kids.
