I am really surprised at the lack of parental input, involvement and support for this school. When the new Superintendent came to Mountain Vista to answer question about the school, 2 parents were there along with about 6 school employees. If you are not happy about how things are done at Mountain Vista K-8, get involved and ask for changes. Make contact with the school board and voice your option and maybe we can get the changes we need to improve our school. There are some great teachers at Mountain Vista and they could use some help.

Dedicated teachers have created a more disciplined environment compared to previous years. Parent involvement is lacking.

This district has many problems. Although the teachers tried very hard last year, we seem to be losing those that care. It's no wonder since the district keeps playing games with the teachers and wasting their planning time. Fridays are often spent going to district to listen to a speaker that has no revelance in the classroom. Teachers are often given tasks that fill up their time instead of giviing them time to focus on class need anc constructive planning. All the good teachers are leaving! Get it together Coolidge!!!!

I've been a Mtn Vista parent since the school opened. It's been one diasaster after another. I could not sit here and type out all the problems I've had. I have read many comments about parental involvement, and can't agree more. The problem is the lack of organization. I helped with PTO the whole time. Or tried to anyway. It is unorganized and frustrating for working parents. They change meeting dates, cancel, or just don't bother following through. The last time I tried to help with PTO, I traded shifts, drove 60 miles an hour down Ellsworth to be there, findthey changed the dates. I made the decision to put my kids in a charter school .I hope they turn it around, but I can't wait, I have to much to lose. You only get 1 chance with your children.
