September 2004, this will be our second year at Edison. Our daughter is an 8th grader, attending excellerated classes and doing very well. The principal and staff are VERY interested in seeing ALL of their students succeed. Some teachers allow students in as early as 7:30 am to get help and finish homework. There is also time after school. Parents also have the options to e-mail questions to teachers in the district. With any school there are always a few bad apples, but staff as a whole is truly a TEAM. Even when the issues are social, there is exceptionally competent staff to assist students, give parents guidance, and track them as they progress through the year. This past year the staff worked hard to 'get themselves off the 'watch list', they were NEVER suppose to be on. Edison came out on top because they have such a caring staff.

My youngest child (7th grade) is presently attending Edison. He is a student athlete taking advanced math and advanced science. My daughter (now 18) was a social butterfly with average grades. My older son (now 21) posted the highest consistant grades in science for both 7th and 8th grades (average score 99). The staff has always been availabe and helpful. As is always the case, there are one or two teachers who really shouldn't be teaching any more. But there are only one or two, no more. The extra curricular activities are well done, varied, and well supported by family and staff. There are tweleve elementary, two junior highs, one alternative school and one high school in our district. They're mostly good.
