I do believe this school is a good school, it has plenty of extracurricular activities for the children that attend there.I am pleased so far with the results that I have seen,but there should be more fund raising for the school, there is not hardly any, I think this puts the school in a downfall, with trying to raise money. I do believe the school would do better, with more funding.The other thing that fell short was the parent involvement. I don't believe some of the parents understand, yes the teachers are getting paid to teach your kids , but you do need to be teaching them at home. they learn from you too. I have 4 children in elementary school and believe me I know it is hard. but I play my part in teaching. Grantham is a nice school.The parents just need to be more involved with there.
This school has an great, caring and loving staff that go above and beyond to give the best possible education to our kids. Students do well on academic tests and skills because the teachers use lots of different kind of styles to give every child a chance to learn. Our kids are given a chance to join a fantastic marimba band that is kept very busy playing all over Washington state. For three year there was an all school musical with many speaking parts and terrific music. One of them was a play about Lewis and Clark which was written by one of the teachers. That teacher also has a drama class after school. We also had 'Bookin Across Washington' where they traveled on a pretend road to many cities in Washington. Parents are always welcome in the classrooms and to help with the many activities.
I love this school and my children love this school. The staff is happy every time I come in. Wonderful programs like drama club, a marimba band and they are very involved with the community.The teachers and secretary's know all the students on a personal level. I love this school!
In reference to 'parent' who posted about textbooks, etc. You can't argue with success! Oh, and many private schools cannot affort textbooks. Research will show that textbooks do not teach children - teacher do!
