My daughter is so lucky to be at Shearer and experiencing art, music, pe, and computer classes along with leveled reading classes. The teachers are caring and responsive and the atmosphere is wonderful.

My daughter attended a local private school for 3 years. With life's changes we decided to put her in our neighborhood school with presumptions that she would not receive the same level of education as a private school. We are very impressed with the quality of teaching that goes on at Shearer Charter School and the amount of dedication the teachers put into the students. With a brand new student computer lab,a yearly Family dance, a Math Festival from UCBerkeley, tutoring, art, P.E and an onsite Afterschool Program. I am proud to say that this school is an amazing place for learning, achievement, and success. As an english-speaking family, this school exceeds the call of duty and offers an excellent learning environment for all walks of life. I strongly recommend Shearer Charter School to families that are looking for an exceptional and motivated school.

I have had my child in Shearer for 4 years. I have found it is ncessary to send my child to another school due to the fact that this school's academic level is far below other schools in the district. This is due to the high population of english learners. It is causing my son's education to suffer. If your child is an english-learner this school is fine. If you child's first language is English, I suggest you find another school.
