I love this school. I cant say enough about it. This is going to be my sons 3rd year at Haggerty. We moved to Belleville and he started attending in the 2nd grade. In the last school he was in he had to repeat kindergarden. I knew he needed help and was behind and the Clinton Valley school district he was in did nothing at all to help him. They would set up meetings with me and cancel at the last minute, they didnt even have him tested. His first year and Haggerty was a unbelievable, he got the help he needed right away and has been doing great ever since. I cant say enough about the teacher. Mrs. Cutting and Mrs. Tenbroeck have been the best teachers. i couldnt ask for me. They are been wonderful to my son.
I can not say enough about the staff and Principal at Haggerty Elementary. My son just started attending Haggerty this year after starting his academic career at Keystone Academy. We left Keystone after 4 years because they refused to help my special needs son. I took my son w/all kinds of medical documentation; the same documentation I presented to Keystone and he qualified for special education at Haggerty without question. He is now receiving the special help he needs and is thriving. I am only sorry that I didn't check out the Van Buren schools sooner.
I love the teachers, staff and principal, they work hard for the kids and its all about the kids. Haggerty has the highest MEAP scores in the district this year.
This is an excellent school...tops in the district! The office staff is extremely helpful and friendly. They have a new principal, Mrs. Pitt, she is full of energy and has brought many new ideas to Haggerty. The teachers are hard working and caring. Haggerty has some of the highest MEAP scores in the district.
