Academically, this school is great. The situation with larger numbers in the 1st grade classrooms wasn't the best idea ever, but we'll all survive. The major problem with this school is, as someone else says, the bullying 'policy'. As far as I can tell, there is no policy other than to turn the other cheek to 'favorites'. This doesn't seem very Christian to me...I think the administration puts on a really good front, but when it comes down to what really matters for every child, they just don't deliver.

first year our son has been at STM. It's a great school academically, socially, and safety.

I graduated from this school 2 years ago and my little sister has attended it for 3 years, as well as my younger cousin for 6 years. I have to say I don't think this school is very good at holding its high moral standards. There is a lot of bullying t this school and not very much discipline. the administration is very gossipy as well as its parents and i would not recommend this school to anyone who isn't 'perfect' or would like to be treated with dignity or respect.

I attended STM from grades K-8. Advantages: students are pushed to succeed more so than at a typical public school, there is a strong sense of community, and it is difficult to 'fall between the cracks' in terms of academics or discipline because STM is a strict place. Disadvantages: There's a lack of curriculum breadth and depth in comparison to a larger school. Also, if you aren't one of the students who can succeed in an environment of overachievers (e.g., you are an average student), you might feel a lack of confidence after a while because there are lots of strong students at STM who are constantly praised (average kids are not always given positive reinforcement). The school's extremely conservative rules and culture might cause students to act out or possibly dissuade students developing a sense of individualism. STM students do very well in life- most go on to (good) colleges.
