I'm not sure why so many parents are complaining about this school. I guess that the unhappy ones are the first to point the finger. I've seen other parents yelling at teachers and staff in front of the kids, and trying to find blame in the staff for their child's behavior. As a parent, watching these other parents not making their children be responsible for themselves is what makes these kids even worse! Overall, this school has an awesome front office staff, principal, and the most devoted teachers I've seen. Yes, they don't have a lot of funding (like the rest of the state), but they buy things out of their own pockets, and encourage donations. We are all here to make sure the kids succeed: parents and teachers need to start working together instead of playing the 'blame game!' Great school!
I am very happy with this school. The staff/teachers/adminstration are a wonderful group of people. They all take the time to help the students with anything that they need. The teachers make themselves available if you have any concerns and the principal and asst. principal are also there if you have any other concerns. There needs to be more parent involvement in the school to help enrich the learning process.
I am throughly disappointed in this school. There are obviously money issues and I feel sorry for the staff/teachers/administrators that are trying to work under the current conditions as it seems it is an impossible obsticle to overcome. But who wants to see their child's education suffer because of that? Basically, there are some good caring teachers, but the school is ridiculously overcrowded and underfunded. I have had issues with a teacher ignoring my requests for a meeting and/or a phone conversation on my son's progress for over 2 weeks. Not until the vice-principal was contacted did this teacher have the courtesy to call. She said she was too busy to even use the bathroom during school days, much less to call. When I volunteered to help in the class, she declined, citing 'confidentiality issues'. This school seems to be a sad, scary drop-off/daycare for forgotten kids.
