Novato Charter School is an absolute success story in the charter school movement, nationwide. It is among the most renowned public schools in Marin County, and our test scores are among the highest in the state. The curriculum is based on teaching the whole child and offers an education that brings together the best of a Waldorf-inspired method, along with the refined best of public education. Our teachers are highly-trained, completely devoted professionals who are truly loved by the entire student body at our school. As a parent, I feel it a privilege to be a part of the Novato Charter School and for my daughters to thrive there.
My daughter is thriving at the Novato Charter School. This is rated of the very best waldorf-based charter schools in the US - despite receiving far less funds than are appropriated to our local public schools. They offer an approach consistent with the child's natural learning rythms. It is very well-rounded compared to the typical 'teach to the test approach' in CA public schools. We are very fortunate to be a part of this special school community!
I can't say how wonderful my experience at NCS was . I entered in 6th grade. I was immediately welcomed by my teacher and classmates. Teacher is to simple of a word for what Mrs.Holt was to her class. As for my classmates, we still meet every year. I met my best friends in 6th grade, we all went on to different high schools but I still see them every weekend. As for graduating on to high school, I couldn't have been better prepared. When other students were struggling with writing essays or taking notes, I already knew how. This is my senior year, my friends are all applying to top colleges but I won't be leaving home for an other year seeing as I just started the second year of my AA. NCS is a great choice for any one in search of a great education.
My daughter is sooo happy here and so are we. The children really love their school. The director and teachers are warm, accessible and dedicated.
