Despite the school to be closed, I think the teachers work wonderfully with our children. I am sorry that this school will be closing but understant the stipulations the state has issued the district. If only our school wasn't in such poor shape structurally and safely, then maybe the state wouldn't see it that we should not have any money put into it. It is historical, yet at the same time the remaining 7 schools are as well, including-Bellamy, Gansevoort,Ridge Mills and even the old RFA. I am satisfied to know that our district is filled with nurturing, educated and caring professionals from teachers to nurses to teaching assistants to janitors. Let's just feel happy knowing that our children are not going into uncaring hands but open arms that are within the other Elementary schools.

Fort Stanwix is a centrally located community school. The educators and parents work together to provide the children with the optimum learning experience. The kids at this school are given every opportunity to excel. From the moment you walk through the doors, the pride in the students is evident from the photos and student work that lines the walls. The dedication of the staff at this school is second to none.

i feel the school is only as good s the teachers and students families that are involved with the children. behaviors should not be tolerated that are not socially acceptable, and parents should be held accountable for their childrens behaviors. children should be made responsible to correct what they can of wrongdoings and this way they learn not only academics but ethics and morals. in this way we protect our children from the schoolyard bullies and place in an atmosphere that is conducive to learning. the talk about tearing down this building disheartens me make it safe make it work allow it to continue to make memories for those that will adventure here in the future as well as maintaining memories of those that came before.

I think thiss school is really wonderful this is my sons first year there as a new student and evryone is really wonderful and helpful and made him feel really at home. He has few learning disabilities and other prpoblems as well, and they have done a great job ........Teachers and all staff in helping him adjust. I think it is a really good school compared to the last school he attended where i thought he wasn't getting the help with his schooling that he needs. He still needs alot of help, and hopefully they will give it to him.
