My children went here from Kindergarten to 2nd grade. The teachers are fantastic, but the curriculum is basic and there is a huge bully problem. The administration DOES NOT have a good grasp on how to deal with bullies. Also, if your child is above average or gifted, they are not challenged and there is not a lot of extra work for them to do. As far as public schools are concerned, it is one of the better ones in the area, but the administration needs to change. Not in touch with the teachers or the children.

We have sent 3 children through Dickinson with great learning results in all areas except hand writing,it seems to be a relatively weak or unemphasized atrribute here,in the correct formation of the letters, kind of an'all roads lead to Rome' philosophy. The teachers I can't praise enough, they are wonderful giving people only being held back by the ciriculum assighned to them. There is an excellent music and arts program here as well as a huge summer school selection. Parent involvment is high and encouraged. The only shortcoming is the choice of administrators at Dickinson as there judgement in my opinion sometimes falls short,as in passing 'problem' children on to the middle school to avoid a 'blemish' on the record. There is always the fickleness of the inclement weather policy being dictated by mood as opposed to the District Policy.
