My three kids have had a quality experience in Jenkins HS. The teachers are caring and want students to do their best. Sports are okay, but could be more competitive.

My child has been struggling in this school for 3 years now. This is despite constant involvement by myself and my child. I have found that the math, history core classes are good classes. The English classes are lacking and his teacher has been very lacking in skills to help. I see a real problem with the egos of the school, teachers and the school district that gets in the way of actually teaching these kids the skills needed to go on to a trade school let alone a College or University. Don't believe it just because this school has won awards does not make it a good school. I would think twice before moving my children here if I knew what I know now about this schools academics and extra curriculum programs. They have declined in their sports programs as well.

My three sons attended this high school and two were appointed to the USNA which is a very hard school to get into. They both scored over 1300 and had a great education with caring teachers and have very fond memories of their time in Chewelah. I felt the atmosphere was conducive to learning in a very safe manner at JHS and wish my younger son would have the same opportunities.
