West Intergenerational Center (A.K.A. West Middle School), has significant quality programs difficult to find anywhere else. West has a unique space and tech program, a rare Gateway program (electronics, an outstanding music department, a popular art program, and a State of the Art Gifted and Talented Magnet Program all of which provide meaningful educational experiences. The staff always seem to be energetic and they clearly go above and behond by providing before and after school enrichment activities to provide students with memorable experiences. The school looks old from the outside (est. 1924), but the staff provides students relative knowledge that focuses on setting and achieving realistic goals. I would recommend West Middle School to any student and/or parent that is seeking an education that will provide a quality education through the school's focus on raising school achievement by providing students with what they need, guidance and motivation. Thanks for reading!

Great experiences with this school! I hear many give this school a bad rap, but that has not been what I have seen. The teachers seems to be involved and really care about these kids. They are a member of 'think.com' which is a great learning resource for the students, and a quick way to communicate with their teachers and students from school and all over the world. (parents are encouraged to participate too!) There are various activities throughout the year and my child has been active in many of them! This is a very promising school and is worth checking into! It's been recognized as an improved school, and that reflects through teachers, staff and the kids! There are classes for learning challenged kids, as well as gifted kids, and all seem to be consistently encouraged and motivated. A very pleasurable year, I look forward to next year!
