Discovery School provides a wonderful hands on interactive approach to education. If you read the current literature on best practices in education, you will find it describes the Discovery School approach exactly.

Discovery School is the place to send your child for an awsome educational experience. The teachers care and encourage the children. Student/teacher ratio is very low. Therefore children get more involved with the lessons and the teacher is able to work with each child individualy. It has great extracurricular activities. Also before and after school programs(Early Birds)and(Latch Key).Discovery highly encourages parents to get involved daily with any activities that the school is doing. The children get a hands on education by actually doing it themselves.Example: when the children study about a country they make up a whole world of it at the school. When the children were learning about Antartica the children had an Ididrod race. Four students would pull a sled while a fellow classmate rode in the sled. Active learning like this will stick with them ten times longer than just reading it out of a book! Excellent School!

Inovative, challenging academic programs are individualized, hands-on, and integrated. Special subjects include Spanish, Art, Gym. Many special activities give children a chance to live what they learn. Students learn how to use their hearts as well as their heads, and creativity, curiosity, and excitement are left intact, so that the whole student will grow into a smart, capable, great person.

Discovery School has been an incredible experience for my son. He is currently in second grade and has been attending since pre-K. He has grown incredibly at Discovery School. The curriculum not only includes general studies, but also includes spanish, art, math, gym,and music. The unique thing about Discovery School is the teaching style. Learning is individualized to each student, which is possible with the 18:1 student-teacher ratio. The school is small and intimate with each grade level working together. My son was so excited when older kids would come and read with him, and now that he is 'the older kid', he is learning the importance of being a mentor. Discovery school tries to encompass every aspect of a child's ability to learn and nourish it. It is so hard to put into words the difference at Discovery. You really have to see it to believe it!
