I am one of those parents who cannot wait for my child to be out of this school. There is little contact between parents and faculty. Procedural decisions are made without parent input- all the time. This principal is much more interested in being a friend to teachers at the expense of the student. NOTHING happens at this school without the principal's fingerprints all over it. Very discouraging. Can't wait to get out of this school district.

De Pere High reflects the values of the community it is located in. These values are small-minded, hypocritical, and, most saddening of all, limiting. This is a district where everybody is gifted and talented, where sports heavily outweigh the fine arts in importance, where you can be in a school-sponsored club against drugs and alcohol during the week, but go home and get completely hammered over the weekends. There are a handful of brilliant teachers, Ms. Rockstroh in the math department and Mr. Hess in science both being of a particularly excellent calibre. The TAG program (at the middle and high school levels) is, ironically, based on standardized test results, the very thing that TAG students often times need to fight around. If you are a parent, and of a gifted and talented child in particular, be prepared to fight for their best interests: this school and community will not.
A great school There is a club or activity for everyone. Great teachers and a great facility for learning, the only criticism I would give is that there is need for more focus on the arts rather than athletics. Otherwise, great events, great teachers, and an overall great experience.
