This is my third year at Bailey Middle. Overall, we love the school, teachers, the education. Not so much the assistant principals or principal. Many times issues are not followed through. Seems as if they pick the issues they want to deal with. On that end, I would only give 2 stars.

There is a great amount of bullying at this school, both verbal and physical. Lower level administrators are woefully handcuffed by the beaureaucratic machine of CMS. The principal is intelligent, poised and responsive, but she can only achieve so much in an overcrowded and very detrimentally heterogeneous environment. My child's Language Arts class has 35 kids in it with one teacher...ridiculous.

While of course this is still a public school, and it comes with the negatives that brings, such as overcrowding, and bullying (mostly verbally) I don't think this school faces most of those issues. I have a child that has been going there for her second year now. The teachers are very educational so far, the school is very clean and the students are well checked on and made sure to be kept in right direction, while giving them a reasonable amount of freedom their age needs. The facilities and systems are planned out, the lessons are useful, and the school just has great character. It's not a boring, dull school where your child will come home and say- wait this day is de ja vou! The teachers mix things up, give very nice privlages, and they even have their own systems to take care and dicipline those needed. Good School!

We are new to the area from Michigan and have been extremeley pleased with Bailey Middle School! The academics have been challenging (6th grade son in honors Language Arts and honors Math), the teachers engaging, the homework very fair, the beautiful new building, and the staff excellent. A new discipline system seems fair and rewards good behavior in awesome ways...Bobcats game!
