Firm Foundation Christian School has outstanding academics (their test scores rank very high) and has professional, certified teachers that do a wonderful job teaching. Everyone from the school secretary, administrator, teachers, and teacher aides all care about the students. In addition to all of the regular courses (math, science, reading, spelling, history, PE, art, etc.) the students also study Bible and there is a weekly chapel. The school was founded in 1995, so it is well established and have a beautiful campus. They offer a full program PreK - 12.

I don't find the Christian based education at Firm Foundation to be anywhere close to 'fire and brimstone'. The school maintains a very mainstream approach toward Christian education and hires teachers from many different denominations. I enjoy the many opportunities that the school provides for volunteer time and I like the emphasis on academics. The teachers at the school genuinely care about their students and want to see them succeed. There are sport teams and a strong music program that has an emphasis on choir and bell choir. I know that the school is expanding its music curriculum to include a band. I also appreciate how the school works hard to keep the cost of tuition affordable and they also have scholarships to assist families in need.

This school teaches Christian values with a fire and brimstone slant. I would recommend prospective parents visit classrooms and assemblies before deciding if this is a good fit for your student. Even the smallest students are taught in this style and some who are not accustomed could become concerned with subject matter of discussions and sermons. This school demands mandatory volunteering hours each family must donate or pay for by the end of the year. There are plenty of in and especially out of classroom opportunities available to do so. Academics are heavily awarded. Children who aren't good citizens are left out of icecream and non-uniform fun days. After school tutoring is available for students needing help to be able to continue attending the school. School sports have been cut for lack of staff and there is no band nor variety of musical instruments. Multiple school fundraisers help with construction completion.

The school is a loving, safe environment for kids to learn and grow into responsible, well educated, Christian adults. Parents are always welcome and encouraged to help; they have many programs, plays and musicals for the parents to attend throughout the year as well. Academics are key as well as character and respect for everyone.
