This school is truly optimal. The lunch program is excellent and the teachers are chosen for their intellect and love for teaching, not their college degrees. For prospective students, being new at Unity is different than being new at other schools. It's easy to make friends, no matter what you look like or what you wear, and everyone, whether you count them as your best friend or not, gets along really well.
My daughter's Kindergarten and first grade have surpassed my expectations. Working in the garden, eating freshly prepared food everyday that is always vegetarian and 90% organic. Teaching the children about their eco-footprint at an early age is the way for the future generations to be taught. The school only uses recycled paper products, has a zero waste lunch policy, and recycles everything. The children participate in this process. The school even purchasing credits for renewable energy. A school with vision! Teaching the 3 R's: Reduce, Reuse, & Recycle, in addition, to Reading, wRiting, & aRithmeitc

Unity has helped my child to expand as a student and a member of society. The small population of the school gives my child the personal attention she needs. The practice of letting each individual speak their own opinions and taking part in decision making has given my child the pleasure of exercising her input. Therefore this process has helped her with other situtions outside of the school environment. My daughter has experienced opportunities she would'nt have been able to take part in at a larger school. I notice she has built her confidence to the point she express assertiveness and conmortable speaking with her peers and adults.

A great school. My child has been a student since the school opened, and graduates this year. An incredibly vibrant, active, supportive community where everone works together! Charter Schools are public schools with specific ideas. The school follows the NJ Core Curriculum, and adds it's own special twist.
