My daughters started at Carpenter in 2008-09 school year in 1st and 3rd grade. We were coming from a very pricey, exclusive private pre-k-12th grade school in Florida. What we found was a challenging, warm, supportive environment and really wonderful parents, staff, and leadership. Considering the crazy growth and budget issues facing the entire district, I think Carpenter is doing an amazing job. And my daughter's first grade teacher was by far the best teacher we have ever encountered at any level.
Carpenter Elementary has an outstanding principal who challenges her staff, parents and students to be their best. She gets things done and has high expectations. We have 2 children who have thrived at Carpenter Elementary School thanks to her leadership.

My family moved to NC from Georgia where my daughter enrolled at Carpenter Elem. in the fifth grade. Having a spouse in the military and moving from school to school I can say that I have seen the good and the bad. I must say that my daughter is having the best year ever! Her teacher trully cares about all of the children in her class not only as students, but also as individuals. She makes learning fun and interactive on a daily basis. Not a day goes by where my daughter does not come home and tell me numerous stories what happens in her class. I admire her teacher and respect the hard work she does each and everyday. Anytime I have a question, she takes the time to explain and follows up whenever possible. Most important, she makes my daughter feel safe and inspired. Great school!
