Three of my children attend Sandy Ridge and we are extremely pleased with the quality teachers and administrators. Parental involvement is strong at SRES. The Principal Tom Childers brings his message of 180 days of purpose into every aspect of the school; he believes that every day is a precious opportunity to expand learning.

I feel that this school is a great school. My girls have been attending SR for a few years now and have always enjoyed going. We did loose a few great teachers due to county 'mixing things up'. One being the Art Teacher who was one of my daughters role models. We will just have to see how the year goes, till now we have loved the school and felt like we where getting a top education.

An exceptional school where there is a high level of learning happening. One of the top elementary schools in the state. In k-garten our child was doing multiplication, reading/writing and talking about things like photosynthesis. He truly loves the school. The one small negative I can see is that things are a tad rigid, as with daily ratings for how each child does (red for a great day, white for an infraction, blue for something really bad, and so on). I do believe this rating system is a bit heavy-handed, but can see how it might help a student perform better the next day in the hopes of not getting a negative rating. Many say that these ratings cause stress for the child and household, so I wish they could come up with something more positive based. Overall, a fantastic school. Never heard of EOG thing poster mentions...

We have been very happy with Sandy Ridge. The principal is very understanding and helpful and truly cares about students. I do not understand the 1 star review re: EOGs.....please point to any ps in the state of NC that does not focus on EOGs.....the schools' ratings are BASED on them! I can't say I wish it weren't so, but it is and this is not particular to Sandy Ridge at all.
