It is an awesome school with very loving students and teachers. This is the ultimate turn of the century school. Out with the Textbooks in with modern technology. Every student has a Lap top that the School has provided to them and all classrooms have Whiteboards. Love it Love it.
I go to this school and strongly disagree that we are missing out on any experience. We are alowwed to go to attend school dances and prom and join sports that from the school we came from. Although only only 1 out of 3 kids get in that apply it is definitly worth trying. Plus a free associates degree, I dont know what's not to love
I was a student at Isothermal Community College, where the REACH program is located. I sincerly believe that these 14, 15, 16-year olds are not ready for college. They bypass high school, which is an important time, not just academically, but socially as well. They are thrust into the college-type way of life, where they are around drugs, sex, and things that are innappropriate for children their age. When they are in the classroom, as I had several in some of my classes, they are treated as college students, however, the ones I had the experience with tried to 'out-do' the older students in the class. Missing out on a real high school experience may not seem that bad to the students now, but once they realize that the only people they know that is their own age, are the few students that attended the REACH program with them.
This is the greatest ever. It has its ups and downs like any school but it has its very outstanding points. The teachers are great they support your kids, so REaCH is a great school but you have to be recognized to go to this school. So, if your kids 3would like to go to this school tell them to work hard. But it is a great school.
