Bensley is a wonderful school built on the Comer guiding principles of no fault, collaboration and consensus.

I find the quality lacking. It's the 4th week of school and they haven't begun to do any reading, yet. why? they are overcrowded! They have to add on teachers, trailers for classrooms, and move the students around to new classes. They don't have enough books for all the students. Is this poor planning? Why should the students suffer? my daughter has a learning disability and hasn't been helped yet, because of these problems. She gets more help from her afterschool program than at school.
I am a parent of seven children, five of which go to Bensley school. Last year was their first year there. Two of my children needed extra help to get them up to level, their teachers were very helpful to get where they needed to be in order to pass. We moved here in December, and the staff was very nice and made my children feel at home. The YMCA also has an after school program at Bensley for working parents who need childcare up until 6:00 pm. Being a working mother this is a life saver. I'm not sure what your looking for as far as comments I just think this is a great school for my kids. There is a great bunch of children who go there, a nice mix of all kinds of people. I'm very glad we moved here so my children can t enjoy their school year.
