Boulder Creek high school is a great place for learning. The expectations are high for both academics and behavior for both students, and the staff. Students are held accountable for their actions, work habits and success. I think a comprehensive high school has so much to offer, I would never put my high school student in a charter school as she would miss out on all the excellent opportunities in a traditional American high school. The teachers are working hard to ensure the quality of the teaching too. Teachers tell me that the administration has really challenged them this year to increase the rigor in the classrooms. I see it in the work my daughter brings home and the conversations around our dinner table. She is thinking and making connections to real life. Good work teachers and Bravo to the Boulder Creek administration for expecting the most from our kids.
Boulder Creek high school is a wonderful school. Educators don't get the recognition they deserve. I commend anyone that would take on such a challenging but important role in our society. Teachers and the Principal all are working together to make Boulder the excellent school that it is.
I was noticing that the Principal, Lauren Sheahan is rated a three in Great Schools. I want you to know that I disagree. Mrs. Sheahan's first year was last year. Rome wasn't built in a day. However, she is doing a terrific job and deserves a 5 star rating. Teacher quality deserves a 4 and safety and discipline deserves at least a 4. The environment at BCHS is much more conducive to learning. I am the parent of a Senior who has attended the last 3 years. The Arizona School System rates Boulder Creek an 'Exemplary School'..the highest rating.
