If you want pretty, then this is the school for you. I took my child out of the school before she was totally turned off by going to school. We loved the schoolwork but could not handle the behavioral problems of the students and the lack of concern from the staff. I was afraid for my child every day to the point of taking my lunch and going to the school for an unscheduled visit. I have not heard any good things from parents since we left. I made a good move!
University Academy is a public charter school not a private school as the description suggests. If you want to see a beautiful campus and top-notch facilities this is it. however no amount of money seems to be able to convince parents from the immediate neighborhood to enroll their children. We opted to give it a chance but very quickly are trying to backtrack and find an alternative. We have been less than impressed. The school seems to have attracted some good teachers but the admin. has been unorganized and less than helpful. The behavior issues are MANY!!!!! We are now trying to place our son somewhere else before he is so turned off by school that it wont matter where he goes.
The school is not as well run as it appears. There are dedicated teachers to be certain, but they are in the minority. I'm looking forward to transferring my children to another school now that we've moved out of the area.
