Battlefield High School

This school is growing. The demographics are changing to be very diverse. Highly recommend if you want to live in a community where learning is #1. They put assignments online therefore students are responsible for their own learning. Parents do not have to be as involved as other areas. Standards are set high and each child is expected to earn a 600 on the SOLs. End of year tests taken via the computer and results given within days. A safe school located within a very prestigious neighborhood. I will have my four children graduate from this school. I moved to the area specifically because of the schools in Haymarket.

The lack of control and communication in this school is awful. At first I thought BHS was an good school until I became a student. The teacher's could care less if you failed a test or skipped class and the language and drug use is awful. May want to reconsider enrolling your child. Although, most all of the kids are friendly and it's easy to make friends.

Battlefield High School is the absolutely best in Prince William County. It has problems, because it is very new school and it is overcrowed, but it is not school's fault, but rather people are are moving in West part of county, what is a best part of county. You just can't compair this school with other schools in county. It is still very young school, but it has great potential and we are very happy with this school and our kid is happy as well with teachers, friends, and everything else. Give it time, it will show up on counry's best rankings. Some parents just do not appreciate what they already have. Try Gar-Field (like my older son) or Potomac HSs, if you do not like this one, let me feel sorry for you.

I would agree that this school lacks concern for the students. Teachers arrive 5 minutes before class and leave immediately after school making communication with them unachievable except by email. I have found the Tech Art class teachers to not even return work so the kids never know their grade let alone if the teacher lost their work!!!!!!I will move my student out of this school because he/she deserves better. These are teachers collecting paychecks not inspiring lives.
