I graduated from Marshfield in 2004 and had a very positive experience. Most of the teachers and administrators really love their school and community. With that said, my advice to anyone would be to play a sport or get involved in a club ASAP. The truth of the matter is that the kids who play sports get more attention (I feel it is this way at most schools.) The athletes just have another pair of eyes watching out for them: their coaches. Regular grade and attendance checks are done for them and this is CRUCIAL in a small community where it is very easy to get waste time with drugs and alcohol. The biggest problem with the school now is the lack of funding. Good people are there to make the school work, but they just aren't getting the necessary dollars from the state. GOOD PEOPLE, BUT NO MONEY:(

This school comprises a large part of the backbone of the Coos Bay community. The staff care about students and work as a team. The students are generally polite.
