When my son was in the first grade, I partnered with the teacher, principal and reading coach to prepare lessons for him because he is at a higher grade level. In the first grade, he was at a .38 reading level (3rd grade). He's now in the 2nd grade and the pace has slowed down because the teacher and dist in whole are not equipped to educated higher learners/gifted students at this level. It's due to the no child left behind. No child left behind to me means children forgotten. We need to implement a gifted program or pull out program for higher learners.

This is a great school to have your child attend. My daughter has a speech problem and the school found that out when she was in kdg. The social workers and the teachers have benn working with her every since. She is now in the third grade this year commoing up ang she is still reciveing the speech srevices but she has made a huge improvement in her skills considering where she started out at.
