I am thankful that Smith Valley has a new principal that truly cares about the student K-12. I see a significant positive change in the Smith Valley students from last year to this year. I think that more postive changes will come, and that soon our school and community will get back on track . And although there is always room for improvement I think that Smith Valley is a great school.
The principal is a very nice gentlemen however his focus is on the high school anot the elementary. Each year we lose teachers in K-6 and the classes grow, test scores drop, and students suffer. The math and reading programs are inadequate. The science program is almost non-existant.
