This school has improved tremendously in the past 3 years. A new superindtendent and a new robust school board has made all the difference. Honors English and biology are among the many changes that have made this school into one that parents now want their children to attend.

The teachers are very caring of the children in this tight-knit community. New construction has made the grounds more appealing. The small size of the school allows for small classrooms and one-on-one teaching.

Jason Michael Garcia is by far the best thing about Point Arena High School. He is considerate to everyone and boosts the morale ato ur school. He carries our athletic teams. He is also a good mentor for all students on campus. He is very intellegent and is willing to share his understanding of material, people, and life with others. He has put on assemblies reflecting on his past experiences and show how he has benefitially changed. He is also hansome and respectable. Also, Jake Veriedon is another person that has affected the environment of PAHS. He is a positive role model and an all around good person. He is involved in many extra curricular activities. He tries very hard to unite PAHS. I thank these 2 young men for my great experiences as a faculty member at Point Arena High School.

Point Arena is a very tiny high school in a very small and rural town. They are currently remodeling the entire school, including landscaping and several new buildings, and teachers have told me that the improvements are boosting student morale significantly. Courses vary widely, but are generally not extremely rigorous. More AP and Honors level classes have been added recently. Parents are absolutely integral to the success of PAHS. Because the school is so small, there are fewer extracurriculars than at larger schools - BUT, the advantage is that every student is able and encouraged to participate in as many as he or she has time for. While I was in school there, I had 4 different principals in 4 years. Now they have a great new principal who has been a teacher and varsity basketball coach for years at PAHS, and is definitely well liked and well respected.
