Absolutely the greatest experience for my daughter since kindergarten. She is now a 5th grader.

My daughter atteneded Morningstar b/c her birhtday fell after the cut off date in public school. She was ready to go to school and eager to do so. I enrolled her in the charter school with a bit of hesitation. She has now recently graduated Kindergarten and I would do it all again! The teacher was fantastic! I admire her patience and abiltiy to focus on each and every student. The K class also included First graders. My daughter, as well as other children, could join in on the first grade level when the teacher felt it appropriate. An advatange she would not have had in public school. As a kindergatener she knows simple math, reading, writing and socials skills and science. Amazing!

Completely unsatisfied with our experience. My son used both Morning Star Academy and it's sister school Grace Academy for tenth(Grace) and eleventh(Morning Star) grade. The teachers were not helpful. I believe they did not even read the homework they graded, as from a paper he wrote that I read that deserved a F and was given a B. As I learned from my son's twelfth grade private school teacher,he was far from being ready for University. His language skills (writing papers) especially were lacking. I am homeschooling his seventh and eighth grade siblings and would not use either of these Academies for their educational experience.

Teachers do not seem to have a great deal of control over what is being taught and how they are to teach it. It seems like they are simply pulling lessons and assignments out of work books and off the internet. The students are not fully being challenged and pushed to achieve greatness.
